三十日間野球三昧

昨日の30 Ballparks in 30 Days と似てるけど、こっちは日本人のレッドソックスファンがボストン戦を中心に３０日間で２１球場３０試合見るという旅行記。野球好きで旅行記好きなら、絶対オススメです（２００６年だけど）。

ラトビア、スウェーデンに勝つ！

今のところ順当に進んでいるスイスのベルンとチューリッヒで開催されているIIHF 世界選手権（相変わらず選手層の薄いスロバキアは苦戦しながらなんとか勝っていますが）、ついに金星が出ました。GWS ですが、エリート国から一歩下がった位置にいるラトビアがスウェーデンに勝ちました！これでどこまで行けるか、ラトビア…？

30日間で30球場制覇（予定）

凄いのが出てきたね。彼らは車でメジャー30球場を30日間で回る予定。既に雨天延期やダブルヘッダーで冷や冷やな状況もクリアしてきた、無理やりナイター２試合ぶった切ってハシゴなんてのもやってなんとかスケジュール通りに進んでるみたい。でも距離的にはまだまだ、移動距離の長い中西部や西部はここからだからね。前に飛行機を使ってこれをやった人がいたと思うけど、車では初なはず（飛行機は一人、車は複数人だけど）。

Justin Morneau the hockey interview

Puck Prospectus has a fluffy interview with Minnesota Twin and Canadian Justin Morneau about hockey. Morneau was once a backup goalie on a major junior team before fully commiting himself to baseball (good choice).

DL: Do you come across many hockey fans playing Major League Baseball?

JM: There are quite a few, but it’s mostly the Canadian guys. I’ll talk hockey with [Jason] Bay or [Matt] Stairs, and there are some guys from the Michigan and Minnesota areas that know the game, and what‘s going on. I try to convert as many guys as I can into becoming hockey fans.

While the American players get busy with fantasy football as the baseball season draws to a close, Canucks will talk hockey anywhere any time.

エルスベリーのホームスチール

日曜のヤンキース戦の勝利でボストン・レッドソックスは10連勝中です。なんと、その試合でボストンのジェコビー・エルスベリー選手が珍しいホームスチールを成功させました。少し危なっかしく見えるけど、成功してるから結果オーライってとこか。かなり稀なだけあってファンの盛り上がりも物凄いですね。

2009 NHL プレーオフ・ラウンド１

ボストン・ブルーインズ（１）　４－０　モントリオール・カナディエンズ（８）

第１シードのボストンが、100周年記念シーズンの古豪でありよきライバルのモントリオールを4タテでスイープ。本命ブルーインズ好調な滑り出しです。

ワシントン・キャピタルズ（２）　３－３　ニューヨーク・レンジャーズ（７）

弱い南東地区を制したキャピタルズは、レンジャーズ相手に第７戦まで持ち込まれました。第５戦ではワシントンのスーパースターのオベチキンが、４人のレンジャーズをかわしてこのスーパーゴールを決めました。

ニュージャージー・デビルズ（３）　３－３　カロライナ・ハリケーンズ（６）

カロライナが絶対的守護神でＮＨＬの通算ゴーリー勝利数歴代1位のマーティン・ブロデュアが戻ってきたニュージャージー相手にこれも第７戦まで健闘しています。

ピッツバーグ・ペンギンズ（４）　４－２　フィラデルフィア・フライヤーズ（５）

因縁のペンシルベニア・ダービーは、スーパースターのシドニー・クロスビー率いる若手主体のペンギンズが勝利。ペンギンズは東のダークホースかな。

サンノゼ・シャークス（１）　２－３　アナハイム・ダックス（８）

レギュラーシーズン最強だったサンノゼが、カリフォルニアダービーで第8シードのアナハイム相手に苦戦しています。頑張れ、デビン・セトグチ！

デトロイト・レッドウィングス（２）　４－０　コロンブス・ブルージャケッツ（７）

強豪の常勝軍団デトロイトが同地区のコロンブス相手に力の差を見せ付けました。2008年のスタンレー・カップ覇者は相変わらず強いです。

バンクーバー・カナックス（３）　４－０　セントルイス・ブルーズ（６）

バンクーバーがカナダのチームとして、カンファレンス準決勝の椅子をまず確保。守護神ルオンゴとスターのセディン・ツインズがどこまでこのチームを引っ張れるか見ものです。

シカゴ・ブラックホークス（４）　３－２　カルガリー・フレームズ（５）

有望な若手が多いシカゴが、カナダ第２のカンファレンス準決勝進出チームを拒む事に王手をかけています。

Indian ice hockey

Fascinating blog by an American in Ladakh in the northern Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir in the Himalayas. The Hockey Volunteer! I’m still reading through the part about Adam Sherlip acclimatizing to culture and hockey in the Himalayas. But he goes on to coach the Indian national team in their first international competition, the recently held Challenge Cup of Asia in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

X-Japan curry bread

Apparently Don Quixote the downmarket 24 hour everything store is collaborating with X-Japan (the number of languages available in Wikipedia is amazing) the visual-kei rock band in a line of products, but I only spotted this curry bread at the cash register so I decided to pick it up to give it a try. 

Turns out, the curry bread was just a normal curry bread despite its “Spicy” name, ah well.

Lotte the confectionary company is holding a dance contest on YouTube as part of its Fit’s gum campaign. Here are the original Lotte commercials which hooks you in even if it’s annoying.
